Your Car's New Year's Resolutions

Your Car's New Year's Resolutions

When you are into automobiles, your car becomes like a family member to you and is also one of your most prized possessions. If it is your personal vehicle, it will surely hold more importance in your life. Whether old or new, all cars need proper maintenance and care so that when they hit the road next time, they are all in top shape with no faults. Ensure high performance from your vehicle without hiccups by following very easy and essential auto care tips. In other words, you can easily avoid going to the mechanic for even the slightest problems if you are well versed with these easy to follow maintenance hacks. This will not only be cost-effective but will also save you lots of time that you would have wasted if your car was at the workshop. So, this new year's, why don't you make a resolution to run regular checks on your vehicle and ensure that it is taken care of regularly without burning a hole in your pocket.

Let's call this car general maintenance 101!

Car cleaning

Cleaning the car regularly:

The first and the most basic step you can take towards maintaining your car is proper cleaning, polishing, waxing etc. If you are trying your hands on this for the first time, we suggest you invest in a good beginner car detailing kit with all the essentials you need to ensure that your car is spotless!

There are a number of car detailing products present in the market today. All you need to do is make sure that your kit has good quality products. Start by cleaning your vehicle with car shampoo. Start by giving a clean water rinse, and then use the shampoo. You can do this every two weeks, and it will help your remove the dirt and reduce abrasion. Once you are done with this process, use wax to keep the shine on. This can be followed by properly polishing your car to remove swirl marks. A car polish can really help restore your car's look to its original form.

The most important thing to remember here is that you must always use a microfiber cloth to clean the surface of your cars. These clothes are softer than sponges and cause less friction, leading to fewer scratches.

Car spray paint

Keep a check on the scratches and the paint:

Nothing hurts us more when we see a new scratch on the surface of our beloved car, and we keep analyzing how did we get it there. There can be several reasons why scratches appear on your vehicle. For example, a light brushing with the trees, passengers not being careful with their belongings, or even the cloth you have been using to dust off the dirt from your car's surface. Whatever the reason might be, you simply can't ignore the scratches. However, there is a simple solution to problems like these- a good quality car scratch remover. This can come in handy for quick cleaning and help keep your car in mint condition.

Another great product that you can use to refurbish your vehicle is automotive spray paint. Spray paints are a powerful quick-drying formulation and can give your car a new look in a few minutes. These are designed especially for cars and bikes and can be easy to use for everyone.

Car sanitise

Clean the interiors on time:

Cleaning the interiors is as essential as keeping the car's exterior clean. You can use a simple vacuum cleaner to remove the dust from the seats, mats and other places. You can also invest in auto interior cleaning products that are readily available in the market and help you keep your car dust free. The most tricky places in the interiors can be the air vents, the base of the gear stick and the steering wheel, but with the right products, this can be as easy as you want.

Also, sanitizing the interiors properly during these times can be helpful. You can add a good quality sanitiser dedicated to cars in your kit.

Tyre pressure

Keep a check on the wheels:

One of the most crucial and essential parts of a car is the four wheels that keep it steady and help you hit the road with your machine. Car tire maintenance is something you can do even at your home by keeping a regular check and ensuring that they are fully functional. In addition, the condition of your tyres can be one of the indicators of your vehicle's health. So, start inspecting your tyres once every month, especially the tyre pressure. If a tyre is inflated correctly, it can make your drive a lot smoother.

Apart from this, you can also check the wheel balance and wheel alignment every now and then.

 engine oil

Check the engine

They say the engine is the heart of your car, and we agree with that. You can try cleaning the engine from time to time. Use simple cleaners to wipe off the gunk. Apart from this, it is also crucial to check the engine oil, and a good quality oil will help it function better. You can either get it changed by the mechanic or try it yourself. Make sure you read the manual to understand the exact requirement and try not to mix the oils.

Summing it Up

We hope our blog helped you understand the checklist you need to do essential maintenance for your car. It becomes easier to keep your car looking new and increase its lifespan with the right auto care products. Your car reflects your personality; hence it should be taken care of and be well maintained. Keep these tips handy and make it a New Year's resolution to take care of your car better this year.
